Rifle Recoil – How To Reduce Gun Recoil

TIP 1.

You can tame rifle recoil in several different ways. For best results, try a combination approach.

If recoil really bothers you, install a heavy duty recoil pad and a muzzle brake, then wear a shoulder pad when you shoot. If that does not work, then its time to move to a lighter kicking cartridge. For example, a 308 produces less recoil than the 30-06, yet both are effective rounds for deer-sized game.

TIP 2.

Has recoil got the better of you? Have you considered using a recoil reducer so you start enjoying shooting your .300 Winchester Magnum or similar big gun?

I know of many owners of such large calibres who couldn’t even hit a tin can at 50 yards while benchresting! The problem is that most owners are scared of the recoil and excessive muzzle blast using such big calibres develop and develop a nasty flinch.

The solution?

Practice, practice, practice…and more practice! Use light loads and practice often.
Or consider using a recoil reducer or some other type of recoil reduction system available.
